Muay Thai

1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I started Muay Thai in 9th grade in order to find a new hobby and to find ways to motivate myself to start exercising. When I began I struggled a lot with trying to learn how to punch and kick properly without losing balance. This led to me attending Muay Thai classes once or twice a week and it eventually because a routine.

Even though it was challenging to understand the concept of it at after practicing for several months I was able to do the punches and kicks without having to second guess myself. In addition, in the process of practicing Muay Thai it helped me develop my abilities to control my emotions because it gave me a way to shift my focus onto something else. Over time it became my outlet for calmness and relaxation.
